Binx® is an online platform connecting self-employed mobile and home-based Hair and Beauty therapists to clients. Binx® facilitates clients to browse therapists, read past reviews and book Hair and Beauty treatments wherever you are.

 

2. Is Binx® free to join?

Yes! Creating your profile is free!

 

3. What is a mobile therapist?

A mobile therapist is a Hair/Beauty therapist who will come to you, e.g. your home, your office, your hotel – wherever you require a Hair and Beauty treatment!

 

4. What is a home-based therapist?

A home-based therapist is a Hair/Beauty therapist who works from their own home, so you visit them.

 

5. Where can I receive Hair and Beauty treatments?

Binx® is UK wide, so wherever you are in the UK including your home, office, hotel – find your Hair and Beauty solution!

 

6. What treatments can I book on Binx®?

There are a wide range of Hair and Beauty treatments available on Binx®. Use our search tool to find your next perfect treatment!

 

7. I need to book an appointment a while in advance what should I do?

Individual therapists decide how far in advance to set their availability. We advise they set availability to a minimum of 6-8 weeks in advance so you should be able to book appointments at least a few weeks ahead.

If you require an appointment to be booked for a few months away e.g. for a wedding, we advise using the Binx® messaging system to send a therapist a direct message to ask if they can book you in.

 

8. I can’t find any therapists in my area – what shall I do?

Drop us an email at customerservice@binxbeauty.co.uk and we will try to find you a therapist. In the meantime, spread the word in your area and invite others to join the Binx® community! Keep checking Binx® as new therapists are signing up frequently.

 

9. How do I choose the right therapist for me?

Use our easy filtering tool to narrow down and find your perfect therapist! Each therapist has a profile listing their qualifications and reviews from previous clients, allowing you to make an informed decision prior to booking.

 

10. Why do therapists charge different prices?

Therapists determine what to charge for their treatments. Some therapists may be more experienced or offer a slightly different treatment compared to others. Check out their profiles to decide who is best for you!

 

11. What do the coloured tags next to individual therapist’s profiles mean?

As therapists complete a certain amount of successful appointments on Binx® they receive a different coloured tag. 10 appointments – White; 20 – Black; 50 – Orange; 100 – Red; 200 – Blue; 500 – Green; 1000+ – Gold.

 

12. How can I contact a therapist directly?

Simply use the Binx® messaging system to send the therapist a direct message via our website.

 

13. How do I book an appointment?

Select the therapist and treatment you wish to book at a date and time that suits you! You will then reach our secure payment page to pay in full upon booking and receive an email confirming your booking shortly.

 

14. The therapist I want to book doesn’t have any availability for the date and time I selected?

If the date and time you are looking for isn’t available, it could be because the therapist is already fully booked for that date or isn’t available for appointments then. We have loads of great therapists, so check to see if another therapist can book you in!

 

15. How do I pay for my appointment?

After choosing your service, you will be directed to our secure payment screen. All transactions are handled by PayPal for safe and secure payments.

 

16. I’ve accidently booked the wrong service, what should I do?

No worries! As long as you’re within the therapist’s cancellation period, just rearrange or cancel the appointment. Check the individual therapist’s profile for their cancellation policy.

 

17. I can’t find a treatment I am looking for?

If no therapists in your area provide the treatment you are looking for, please drop us an email and let us know. Keep checking Binx® as new therapists are signing up frequently.

 

18. My therapist has asked me to pay outside of Binx® – what shall I do?

In line with our T&Cs, to safeguard both you and the therapist, we require all payments to be conducted directly through the Binx® website. If a therapist asks you to pay outside of Binx® and you accept, both of your accounts may be terminated. Please notify Binx® of any such requests at  – customerservice@binxbeauty.co.uk

 

19. What if I want to rearrange/cancel my appointment?

Individual therapists set their own cancellation policies either requiring 24, 48- or 72-hours’ notice. If you want to rearrange/cancel an appointment and are still within the therapist’s cancellation policy window, simply cancel your appointment in your account and rebook for a more convenient time!  Only appointments cancelled within the individual therapist’s cancellation policy are eligible for a refund. Please check your therapist’s profile for their cancellation policy.

 

20. My therapist hasn’t arrived yet?

Your therapist should ensure they are with you on time, but sometimes they may be running late. If this is the case, use our messaging system to check they are on their way. If they did not turn up, we’re really sorry, please send us an email and we will investigate.

 

21. I am going to be late to my appointment what should I do?

Please use the Binx® messaging system to send your therapist a message to let them know. How long your therapist will wait is at their discretion, but they may have an appointment straight after you and cannot wait, so please try to get there on time. If you are late for an appointment and it cannot go ahead, you are not eligible for a refund, so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time.

 

22. Can I have the same therapist I booked last time?

Of course! Go into your past appointments to find your previous therapist and make a new booking with them. If they don’t have any space on the date/time you need, check out our other great therapists in your area!

 

23. What happens if my therapist cancels my appointment?

We’re really sorry about this, we will give you a full refund. Check to see if any other therapists have an available time slot.

 

24. How can I leave a review?

After your appointment you will be sent an email asking you to leave a review. Please give as much detail as possible ensuring all is accurate and factual to help other clients find a great therapist for them!

 

25. How are therapist ratings worked out?

Previous clients are asked to write a review of their experience with that therapist. The rating is based upon the average rating of all that therapist’s past reviews. Note – before a therapist has received their first review – their rating score will start at 0.

27. How do I check my appointment details?

We’ll email you a booking confirmation, which you will need to show your therapist on arrival. You’ll also find any past and future bookings available to view in your account.

2. How do I join?

Sign up and register as a new therapist on our website. Here you can create a profile and add your treatments.  Be sure to add your PayPal details so we know where to send your payouts to – otherwise you won’t come up on any client searches!

 

3. What is a mobile therapist?

If you are a mobile therapist, you are a Hair or Beauty therapist who travels to visit clients wherever they require a Hair/Beauty treatment. You must have your own transport if you are mobile.

 

4. I am a mobile therapist; how far can I travel?

In your account you can easily set up the distance you are willing to travel. When scheduling appointments if you are mobile, be sure to take into consideration the travel time between clients. Note – You can set your standard leeway window in your account.

 

5. What is a home-based therapist?

If you are a home-based therapist you work from your own home or premises, so clients visit you.  Be sure to include clear directions on how to get to you!  Note – Binx® is not a resource for salons but for individual independent Hair/Beauty therapists.

 

6. Can I be both mobile and home based?

Of course – this gives clients and you more flexibility!

 

7. I’ve never been self-employed, should I join Binx®?

Yes! Here at Binx® we make it so easy to become your own boss. Forget about marketing – clients will find you! Forget about managing your appointments – all upcoming appointments are easily accessible in your account! We also handle all payments through our secure payment system. All you need to do is continue to provide great Hair/Beauty services whenever suits you!

 

8. Is there a minimum number of hours I need to work a week?

No – you set your own hours so it’s completely up to you! Whether you’re full-time, part-time or just now and again, Binx® gives you the flexibility to work when you want to.

 

9. How do clients find me?

By joining Binx® you immediately become visible to clients looking for Hair/Beauty treatments in your area.

 

10. What qualifications do I need?

All therapists are required to be at least NVQ Level 2 qualified (or equivalent) in a UK recognised Hair/Beauty course and must hold any additional required qualifications for all treatments you offer.

 

11. What certificates/documents should I upload to my profile?

Please upload any relevant Hair and Beauty qualifications/certification you have obtained. This includes all NVQ level certifications and any extra qualifications you may have to carry out certain treatments. The more evidence of Hair and Beauty qualifications you give – the more confident clients will be to book with you. What we don’t want is GCSE or A-level results though, we’re all about Hair and Beauty! If you have a DBS check, this is also beneficial. (If you don’t you can apply for one here – https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record).

 

12. How do I upload my proof of qualifications?

Go to your account and select edit profile. Here you will be able to upload scanned or photographed evidence of your qualifications.

 

13. What should I charge per treatment?

It is up to you! Therapists get to decide the cost and duration of their treatments.

 

14. What is a leeway window?

The leeway window is the amount of time left empty between appointments. This defaults to 15 minutes, but you can edit your leeway window at any time in your account. For example if you have an appointment from 10-10:30 and have set your leeway window at 15 minutes, then your next available appointment slot will be at 10:45. This is to allow for things such as an appointment running over, set up time between appointments and/or travel time.

 

15. Can I choose my cancellation policy?  

You can choose your cancellation period allowing clients to receive a full refund at either: 24, 48 or 72 hours prior to their appointment.

 

16. How do I set my hours?

Log into your account > Your profile > General Info. Here you can set your hours by listing your start and finish times by day of the week. Use the ‘Add shift’ button to add a new shift in the same day. For example, if you wanted to work on Monday from 10am-2pm then again in the evening from 5pm-9pm you would enter your start and finish times as 10:00 until 14:00 and then click ‘Add shift’ and enter your next start and finish times as 17:00 until 21:00. The times you enter for each day will roll on indefinitely, but you can change these at any time. We advise you show your availability at least six weeks ahead in order to allow clients to rebook with you.

 

17. What are the service fees?

By joining Binx you will become visible to clients looking for independent Hair and Beauty services in your area, so no need to spend time and money on marketing – clients will find you! We also provide therapists an integrated appointment diary making managing your appointments so easy along with safely and securing handling all payment transactions on your behalf – all you need to do is continue to provide great Hair and Beauty services!  In order to provide these services to you, therapists receive 85% of all treatment costs from each booking from Binx®, less PayPal fees.  

 

18. I’m going on holiday and need to book days off – how do I do this?

Go into your account and click ‘Calendar’. Click ‘Manage your holidays’ and here you can book the full day off by clicking the button ‘Available all day’ so it changes to ‘Unavailable’. This will ensure clients cannot book an appointment with you on that day. You will then see this day crossed through on your calendar.

Note – please ensure you mark days as unavailable in plenty of time as repeated cancellations not only let down clients but could lead to your account being suspended or terminated.

 

19. What insurance do I need?

It is up to you but ensure you have all required insurance to become self-employed and interact with members of the public. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct insurance in place – it’s very quick and easy and reasonable to purchase online!

 

20. When do I get paid?

We take payment in full from the client upon booking. We will process therapist payments, nett of the service fee, on the Wednesday for completed appointments carried out on the previous week. Please allow a few working days for the payment to reach your account from PayPal.

 

21. The client asks to pay in cash – what should I do? 

In line with our T&Cs, to safeguard both you and the client, we require all payments to be conducted directly through the Binx® website. If a client asks to pay you outside of Binx® and you accept, both of your accounts may be terminated. Please notify Binx® of any such requests at – customerservice@Binxbeauty.co.uk

 

22. What if my client is late?

Please use the Binx® messaging system to ask if your client is nearby. How long you wait is at your discretion, but if you have an appointment straight after it may not be possible for you to wait, or if you do, you may have to cut their appointment short.

 

23. How can I change my profile picture or account information?

Go to your account and select edit profile.

 

24. I’m trying to add a treatment to my account, but it isn’t listed as an option. What should I do?  

We have frequently-booked treatments listed as options to select from, making creating your profile quick and easy. If you offer a more bespoke treatment, great! Simply select a main category for your treatment and then select ‘other’ at the bottom of the subcategory list and type in the treatment you offer.

 

25. How do I contact a client?

The Binx® messaging system allows you to contact the client directly without having to give away personal information like your phone number.

 

26. How do I cancel an upcoming appointment?

Go to your account and select cancel appointment. Cancelling a client’s appointment can have serious implications and if you are seen repeatedly cancelling appointments, we may suspend or terminate your account.

 

27. What is the coloured tag next to my profile?

As you reach a certain milestone of successfully completed appointments on Binx® you go up a level and receive a different coloured tag – go for gold!
